What We Believe
The Scriptures: The Bible is the inspired Word of God, written by holy individuals moved by the Holy Spirit. It is the infallible guide for faith, doctrine, and conduct. (2 Tim. 3:16; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)
The Godhead: We believe in one God, existing eternally in three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—co-equal in glory and majesty. The Father is the source and sender of the Son, the Word made flesh, who has existed eternally with the Father (John 1:1-3, 14; Phil. 2:6). The Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son and is active in creation, salvation, and sanctification (John 15:26).
Humanity, Sin, and Redemption: Humanity, created in God’s image, fell through sin, resulting in separation from God. All have sinned and need redemption (Rom. 3:23; Rom. 5:12-15). Through Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who overcame sin and death by His life, death, and resurrection, humanity is offered reconciliation with God. Salvation is a gift of grace through faith, producing works pleasing to God (Eph. 2:8-10).
New Birth and Eternal Life: Salvation begins with repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, resulting in the New Birth and the promise of eternal life (John 3:3-5; 2 Cor. 7:10; 1 John 5:12).
Water Baptism: Water baptism by immersion is a command of Christ and a public declaration of faith, symbolizing the believer’s union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matt. 28:19; Rom. 6:4; Col. 2:12).
Baptism in the Holy Spirit: The Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift promised to believers, empowering them for witness and service. The indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit comes at the New Birth, while the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is received after salvation (Acts 1:8; Acts 2:4; Acts 2:38-39).
Sanctification: Sanctification is a process of being made holy, beginning at salvation and continuing through the believer’s life. Holiness is essential for seeing God (Heb. 12:14; 2 Cor. 3:18).
The Resurrection and Return of Christ: We affirm the bodily resurrection of the dead and the imminent return of Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead, bringing His kingdom to fulfillment (Acts 1:11; 1 Cor. 15:20-23).
Eternal Judgment: Those who reject Christ will face eternal separation from God. Eternal joy is promised to those who trust in Christ (Heb. 9:27; Rev. 20:11-15).
